Dr. Mark Dolmont Appointed Acting Director of Teaching & Learning

The Fort McMurray Public School Division (FMPSD) is delighted to announce that Dr. Mark Dolmont has been appointed as the Acting Director of Teaching & Learning. With an impressive 20-year career in education and a deep commitment to student success, Mark brings a wealth of experience, passion, and leadership to this new role.

Mark’s journey with FMPSD spans nine years, during which he has made a significant impact in various leadership roles. He began as Vice Principal at Fort McMurray Islamic School for two years, followed by a year as Vice Principal at École Dickinsfield School. He then served as Principal of Dr. Clark School for two years and is currently in his fourth year as Principal of École McTavish High School.

Mark’s academic achievements further underscore his dedication to education. He holds a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Education from St. Francis Xavier University (STFX), a Master of Arts in Sport Administration from the University of New Brunswick, and a Doctorate of Educational Leadership (EdD) from Western University.

Reflecting on his new role, Mark shared:
"I am excited about this new opportunity as the Acting Director of Teaching and Learning. Over the past 20 years, I have worked with students of all abilities from kindergarten through university. I look forward to collaborating with my FMPSD colleagues, as well as current and new community partners, to continue to support the growth and learning of all students within FMPSD."
