ATA Strike Commencing on Monday; School Closures Starting Oct 6th

As a result of the Alberta Teachers Association (ATA) rejecting a proposed deal from the Teachers’ Employer Bargaining Association (TEBA), all FMPSD schools will be closed to students starting Monday, October 6, 2025, unless a new agreement is reached or strike action is otherwise averted. Additionally, all yellow school bus routes will be suspended for the duration of the strike.

In light of the ongoing strike, all extracurricular activities, including sports, clubs, and after-school programs, will be temporarily suspended.

As there is no definitive end date for the strike, FMPSD is unable to provide a timeline for when normal operations will resume. We will continue to provide timely updates as we receive them from the Ministry of Education and Child Care.

We are excited to announce that the report cards for Term 2 of the school year for Kindergarten through Grade 6 students are now available for viewing. We understand the importance of staying informed about your child's academic progress and achievements, and we strive to make this process as convenient as possible for all families.

Accessing Report Cards:

ECDP Report Cards:

Please note that Early Childhood Development Program (ECDP) report cards are provided in person. For families with children participating in the ECDP, report cards were distributed during the recent Kindergarten Open House. If you could not attend, the remaining report cards will be sent home this coming Monday.

A Note of Thanks:

We want to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to all the students, parents, and dedicated teachers for their hard work and commitment throughout this term. Your collaboration and support have been vital in navigating the academic year successfully.

Moving Forward:

We encourage parents to review their child's report cards and celebrate their accomplishments. This is also an excellent time to set goals for the upcoming term. Should you have any questions or wish to discuss your child’s progress further, we invite you to arrange a meeting with their teacher.

We look forward to continuing to work together to support our students' educational growth and development. If you have any questions or concerns about the report cards or any other matter, please do not hesitate to contact us.
