Traditional Celebration of Achievement to Celebrate 25th Anniversary

(FORT MCMURRAY, AB - May 16, 2022) Fort McMurray Public School Division, Fort McMurray Catholic Schools and Northland School Division are pleased to announce the 25th annual Traditional Celebration of Achievement (TCOA) will be held on May 18, 2022 - 7 p.m., at Keyano Theatre. The celebration recognizes and honours the First Nations, Métis, and Inuit (FNMI) graduates of the Wood Buffalo region featuring students from Fort McMurray, Fort Chipewyan, Fort McKay, Anzac, Janvier, and Conklin. 

Annalee Nutter, FMPSD Superintendent congratulated the graduates.

“We are looking forward to coming together again to celebrate our Indigenous graduates. This is a milestone event and a milestone 25th year anniversary. TCOA speaks to their diligence, dedication and drive for success. FMPSD has always made our Indigenous students and education a priority. We know our students are poised for success. Here’s to their incredible future.”

George McGuigan, Fort McMurray Catholic Schools Superintendent noted:

“Congratulations to all the Indigenous students of our region. The Creator has a plan for you.  Hear the voice and follow it. Find your passion. On behalf of the Fort McMurray Catholic Schools family, we are very proud of you. God bless.”

The inaugural TCOA was held in 1998 when approximately a dozen graduates from the Fort McMurray area crossed the stage.
